For those whom he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son... Romans 8:29
"What do I need to change? How do I change?... Will I ever change?" We have all asked these question and more. For most of us, we have experienced trying, failing, and wondered how lasting change can happen in our life or in those we are seeking to counsel. For you, it may be habits from a former way of life, a plateauing walk of an older Christian, ongoing battles with entrenching sins, or helping others in their growth. There is hope.
There is hope because there is hope in Jesus. In Christ we have a promise of forgiveness, and also a promise to experience lasting change. Change will not be found by just "turning over a new leaf" or in a system or a bunch of rules, but it will be found in Jesus Christ. Faith in the Redeemer. The gospel of Jesus Christ gives us a promise of hope and the power to experience this freedom and to be become more like Jesus.
Join us as we explore what Scripture teaches us on this topic during our "How People Change" seminar Friday, Feb 17th through Sat, Feb 18th. By God's grace, we hope that you will each leave the weekend equipped with some basic skills for change, and freshly reminded of the gospel that will enable you to experience transforming grace in your life.
The seminar is FREE. Please, register online so we can prepare for all attendees.
* There will be no childcare provided during the seminar.
* A giving box will be available for any who wish to help in covering the expenses of the seminar.

Corby Megorden and his wife, Vilma, first visited Covenant Life Church in November of 1990. “As C.J. Mahaney preached the gospel, we clearly understood our need for a Savior and God’s gracious provision of Jesus as our Savior,” says Corby.
Corby is a Minnesota native. A 1979 graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy (where he played ice hockey), Corby earned an M.S. in Engineering Management from the University of Maryland in 1992. He served seven years active duty and 15 years in the Naval Reserves, retiring with the rank of captain. He worked in the DoD Consulting and IT industries as an Operations / Finance manager from 1986 to 2001.
In 1993 Corby was introduced to the biblical counseling ministry at Covenant Life as a volunteer, and discovered a passion to bring God’s Word to bear in the daily lives of people. He and his wife became members of the CLC Lay Counseling team, supporting the pastoral team primarily in the area of marriage counseling. Over the next 7 years, he completed all four levels of training with the Biblical Counseling Foundation and served as member of the counseling team. In 1997, Corby began to assist Robin Boisvert in teaching the Biblical Counseling courses to prospective counselors and eventually assumed responsibility for this training in the late 90’s.
In 1999, the pastors asked him to consider coming on staff as a pastor to oversee the counseling ministry. Corby went through a two-year process of evaluation, prayer, and seeking counsel, entering the Pastors College in 2001 at age 43. During this time his ministry plans were redirected and upon graduation in 2002, he joined the pastoral staff as the Administrator.
However, he has still remained actively involved in the counseling ministry, leading a counseling team with his wife and serving alongside Joe Lee to oversee the CLC Counseling ministry. Additionally he has taught Biblical Counseling in the Sovereign Grace Pastors College for the past 10 years and co-teaches “How People Change” Seminars three times annually in the church.
Corby and Vilma have two married adult daughters and one granddaughter.
